Sustainability can be difficult to navigate, which is why we want to be open and honest about our designs so you can feel confident in your choices when creating a space to live more sustainably. Our responsible products help you make the right choices. The products on this page are produced with a strong focus on durability, natural materials and timeless design. Products featuring our ‘RESPONSIBLE’ label therefore have one or more of these sustainable certifications: GOTS, Organic Blended, or FSC™ certified. You will also find products made from responsibly recycled materials, such as recycled glass, recycled aluminium, recycled paper pulp or PET yarn made from recycled plastic bottles.
Sustainable furniture and production
As a frontrunner in Danish sustainable design, we want to be 100% transparent when it comes to our products and production. At ferm LIVING we work for a better future and we take our responsibility as a design company seriously. Our designs celebrate life’s contrasts, but not at the expense of people or the environment. To help us achieve this, we have set out an ambitious accountability strategy.
When we design sustainable furniture, the idea of sustainability is woven into every aspect of design and production. We take a ‘cradle-to-grave’ approach to the lifecycle of all our products, which means they are durable and designed to be used. They need to last not just for a few years or a season, but for a lifetime. We want our designs to last – both in terms of function and aesthetics. By using carefully selected materials, we also ensure that our sustainable designs come together as a whole. The material is important for the design as well as the expression, and a sustainable material also means that the product can be recycled once it has served its purpose.
