A Home Away from Home

ferm LIVING and Villa Copenhagen unveil a new design suite at the Copenhagen luxury hotel

A comfortable and intimate space in the heart of the bustling city, the new Residential Suite at Villa Copenhagen is a celebration of travel and design. Profiling the best of both brands, the space interprets the award-winning hotel’s key values – contrast, conscious luxury and happiness – through a ferm LIVING lens.

Stepping inside the building’s original mahogany doors to the new suite, a home away from home awaits—one which appeals to business and leisure travellers alike. Rethinking the space for a modern audience while retaining original details of the historic building from 1912, marble, brass and wood elements are underpinned with modern accents in rich materials that lend a feeling of comfort and luxury.

“The new suite is a unique opportunity to showcase the commitment to conscious living and travel that ferm LIVING and Villa Copenhagen share. A creative meeting of minds, the suite offers a luxurious yet accessible and authentic experience,” says Selma Reichstein, Marketing and PR Manager at Villa Copenhagen.

“Every detail has been carefully curated to reflect the cool sophistication and casual elegance that Denmark’s capital city — and ferm LIVING design – has become synonymous with. ”

Comprising two en-suite bedrooms around a central living area, the beauty of the suite lies beyond its aesthetics: just like a home, it offers flexible and versatile solutions to guests’ needs, allowing travellers to make the most of their stay. Here, every detail has been carefully curated to reflect the cool sophistication and casual elegance that Denmark’s capital city — and ferm LIVING design – has become synonymous with.

The Residential Suite features design pieces that illustrate the versatility and breadth of the ferm LIVING collection. The dining area, with its stone-topped Mineral Dining Table and swivel-base Rico Chairs, doubles as a workspace, while the embracing curves of the Rico Sofa and corresponding poufs create a comfortable lounging space for informal meetings or relaxation after a day exploring the city. Decorations include a mix of modern ceramics, sculptures and antique finds. The muted colour palette of soothing cashmere tones is broken with an uplifting yet understated shade of lemongrass yellow on the ceiling and a vibrant gallery wall filled with abstract artwork.

“The Residential Suite at Villa Copenhagen is an experience that celebrates the feeling of home.”

In the bedrooms, king-size beds are generously decorated with an assortment of tufted New Zealand wool cushions and the inviting hemstitched Daze Bedspread. Bathrooms feature ferm LIVING’s scented candles and cotton-linen Field Robe to make the space even more inviting. Throughout the suite, bespoke cotton-linen curtains, which take their cues from Korea’s traditional pojagi patchwork technique, lend an air of privacy while offering a peek to the neighbouring Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli Gardens. A selection of the items on display are available in the hotel lobby for guests to purchase and keep as a souvenir of their stay.

“The Residential Suite at Villa Copenhagen is an experience that celebrates the feeling of home. Here, we have brought to life our philosophy of finding a sense of place, connecting being comfortably oneself to the culture and environment of Villa Copenhagen,” comments Trine Andersen, founder of ferm LIVING, on the collaboration.
